DJI Dock 3 is an industrial drone-in-a-box solution built for round-the-clock autonomous aerial operations. Supplied with a DJI Matrice 4D or Matrice 4TD enterprise drone, the system flies scheduled or on-demand missions entirely on its own: the drone launches from the dock, completes its route, returns, lands and recharges without anyone on site. Operators plan and monitor everything remotely through DJI FlightHub 2. It is DJI’s first dock designed to be mounted on a vehicle as well as installed at a fixed site.

Built for Extreme Conditions
The dock operates and charges in ambient temperatures from −30 °C (pre-heated) up to +50 °C, and its enclosure carries an IP56 dust and water resistance rating. The Matrice 4D and 4TD ship with low-noise anti-ice propellers that hold a stable flight in freezing rain and in winds up to 12 m/s, so missions continue in weather that would ground a conventional deployment.
Flexible Deployment and Long-Range Transmission
Dock 3 supports both fixed installations and vehicle-mounted use, with horizontal calibration and cloud-based dock location calibration. Two docks can run on a single vehicle so drones rotate and coverage never pauses. For fixed sites, an optional D-RTK 3 Relay improves resistance to interference in both video transmission and satellite acquisition. Video transmission reaches up to 10 km, extendable to roughly 25 km with a relay.
Matrice 4D and 4TD Drones
Both aircraft are IP55-rated and deliver up to 54 minutes of forward flight or 47 minutes of hovering. Each carries a wide-angle camera, a medium tele camera, a tele camera and a laser range finder, with a Night Scene mode for full-colour night vision.
- Matrice 4D — built for high-precision mapping and detailed surface inspection: 24 mm wide camera (4/3 CMOS, 20 MP, mechanical shutter), 70 mm medium tele (48 MP) and 168 mm tele (48 MP).
- Matrice 4TD — adds an infrared thermal camera and an NIR auxiliary light covering 100 m, suited to public safety, emergency response and low-light inspection, with black-and-white night vision via an IR-cut filter.

Intelligent Automated Missions
Paired with DJI FlightHub 2, the drone follows automated flight routes and can detect and capture vehicles or vessels, flag infrared temperature anomalies and notify operators automatically. A change-detection feature delivers periodic analysis of how an area has altered between flights — valuable for site security, environmental monitoring and disaster response. The Virtual Cockpit interface lets operators adjust altitude and gimbal orientation remotely and centre the frame precisely.
Expandable with Professional Accessories
- Obstacle Sensing Module — LiDAR and millimetre-wave radar for precise flight in complex environments such as power lines and substations.
- DJI AL1 Spotlight — gimbal-following illumination up to 100 m.
- DJI AS1 Speaker — voice broadcast up to 300 m, with recorded messages and text-to-speech.
- Third-party payloads — supported via the aircraft E-Port and an additional PSDK port, remotely controllable through FlightHub 2.
- Airborne relay — with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller, one Matrice 4D can act as a relay to extend another drone’s range, even without 4G coverage.
Typical Applications
- Public safety and law enforcement — rapid aerial response and situational awareness
- Emergency response, disaster assessment and search and rescue
- Critical-infrastructure and industrial inspection — power lines, substations, pipelines, solar and wind assets
- Perimeter and site security for facilities and large properties
- Surveying, mapping and construction progress monitoring
